If you enter Jotokuji on your Google Maps be aware that there are two different Jotokuji Temples in the same area. In English both are called Jotokuji but in Kanji the characters are different.
We are this Jotokuji: 上徳寺
The other is: 浄徳寺 If you go there you will go to the wrong one!
Directions on How To Reach Us
From JR Kyoto Station
1- Walk: 16 minutes on-foot; 1200 metres.
2- Subway: Karasuma Line - Kyoto to Gojo (1 minute) then 4 minutes walk.
From Fushimi Inari
1- Keihan Line: Fushimi Inari to Kiyomizu Gojo station (6 minutes) then 4 min. walk
2- JR Nara Line: Inari to JR Kyoto (5 minutes) then Subway
From Arashiyama
1- JR Sagaarashiyama to JR Kyoto (16 minutes). Then Subway or Walk.
From Nijo Castle
1-JR Nijo to Kyoto (6 minutes) then subway or walk.
2- Subway Nijo Jo Mae to Gojo. Change at Karasuma Oike: 10 minutes, then Walk.
From Kinkakuji Temple
1- Bus Kinkakujimichi to Kitaoji. Then Subway Kitaoji to Gojo, then walk. 37 minutes in total.
From Imperial Palace
1- Subway Imadegawa to Gojo (8 minutes) then Walk.
From Kiyomizu Temple
1- On foot 26 minutes.
